Crepe paper roses are the perfect paper flower for any occasion or home decoration. Paper roses are most often used in bridal bouquets and at weddings. Although you can also find paper roses in centerpieces, wreaths and several other home decor items at the home of a paper flower maker or paper flower lover.

In this article we will look a few different floral arrangements you can make with crepe paper flowers. One of the best things about working with crepe paper is the ability to create any color paper flower you would like whether it is a pink rose or a blue rose. Imagine all the possibilities you have to create magnificent arrangements.

If you were to rate the difficulty level of making a paper rose it would fall between the easy and moderate difficulty level. Not to say it is moderately difficult but more so it requires more time and patience to make than say a paper daisy would. As long as you follow the instructions provided for you in a good paper flower making book you will have no trouble at all making a paper rose. Just be prepared to spend a little more time working with it than some of the other flowers you may have made in the past.

Rose Centerpiece

Our rose layer centerpiece is one of our absolute favorites. Not only is it colorful and beautiful it looks so real the people are afraid to touch it in fear of harming the fresh flowers. It looks so real that your guests will actually admire it from a far!

You will need 24 roses, you can make any color you want even 24 different colors if you would like or you could make 12 of two different colors or shades of a color and you can also make three different colors. That is the nice part about this centerpiece you make whatever colors you want and it will look beautiful regardless.

You will need a medium to large vase. Fill the bottom of the vase with multi-colored gems or you can use the colors you are using for the paper roses. These gems you can pick up at any craft store or dollar store.

Place your roses in the vase. If you used two or more colors alternate them so no two colors are next to one another. You can also make eight roses choice a dominate color – white works well or if your centerpiece is made up of three shades of pink use the darkest color pink in the center, make the stems on these flowers slightly longer so they will stand out in the centerpiece. You can finish it off with a bow, hand tied ribbon or lace. You do not need to add any of the above as the centerpiece is so beautiful by its self the added touch may very well go unnoticed all together.

Out of that one sheet you can easily make a dozen flowers or more.

Aside from paper flowers, gifts are one of our favorite items to make using crepe paper. Below are a few simple crepe paper gift ideas.

A crepe paper covered treasure box is a nice gift idea. The only items needed are a small box with a lid, crepe paper, a few flower patterns and few tools, and this is a great gift idea for women. You can put anything you like in the treasure box including; candy, jewelry, cash even perfume.

Bookmarks are another nice gift idea. You can make these for both women and men. All you need is a few sheets of crepe paper, cardstock, a few stickers or a picture you could even cut a picture out of a magazine. Just as long as you use something the recipient likes. You could even write a nice poem on it.

Crepe paper also makes wonderful gift wrap. You can wrap the gift in plain colored crepe paper and make a big loop bow to attach to it or decorate the crepe paper with stickers, pictures attached with a clear drying glue, family photos (use a small piece of scotch tape) so the pictures can be removed and put into a frame after. You can also decorate the pattern with beads; make a pattern of a heart, butterfly, fire truck or whatever the person receiving the gift likes. It only requires a little imagination and knowing what the person likes or to make a fantastic piece of wrapping paper.

You can also make cards, invitations and scrolls out of crepe paper. Scrolls with a lovely poem and a picture make a very nice gift for the guests at a wedding. You can add a paper flower to the scroll and just tie it around the rolled scroll.
